In addition to the Care-O-bot® platforms, several additional mobile robots have been developed at Fraunhofer IPA for different field of application.
In March 2000, three robots based on the same hardware platform
and control software as Care-O-bot® I were developed for the "Museum für Kommunikation Berlin" where they autonomously move among the visitors, communicate and interact with them.
rob@work was developed in 2001 as a prototype of an intelligent
assistant in production environments.
ASSISTOR research project.
The exposition robots OSKAR und MONA were operated at Opel in Berlin
between October 2003 and October 2004.
Secur-O-bot was build in 2004. It is an autonomous security robot, equipped with robust
mechanics, high-performance navigation and flexible configurable sensors.
Since December 2005, K-bot-1 enterhains visitors at the KutxaEspacio de la Ciencia science museum
in San Sebastian, Spain.
MIMROex is the prototype of an onspection robot for process technoloy and the first mobile robot worldwide that has been in autonomous operation on an offshore platform.
The robots developed in the ImRoNet project can be applied to support a local user during maintenance or assist teleoperation by providing semi-autonomous functions.
